Definitely come for the omakase! We recommend Chef Master (yes, his name is Master). Each course made it so difficult to pick our favorites because they were all so delicious! The service and food are great, and the omakase price is very fair here. I recommend sitting at the chef counter to get to chat with the chefs and watch them prep the courses. They have tables available otherwise. The regular menu items all sounded interesting, and the ones that I saw being served looked really good. Parking in the area is tough; so, plan ahead if you're driving in. All in all, it was a great date night experience and we'd definitely go back!

Too expensive for what it is. Ambience is refined but oddly sterile - the fishy smell when you walk in needs fixing. The $95 omakase is fine but underwhelming for the price, with especially poor rice. You can do much better at the same cost (Okane, Nakama, Eiji). Portions are small, so we had to order extra rolls. Rolls were decent, but not for the price. Sauces were consistently good throughout. Smart-casual vibe. Overall, not recommended for the price.

We had a delicious dinner here. Most of us ordered the omakase, and it was so good. The fish was very flavorful and served at the perfect temperature. The omakase starts with a plate of appetizers such as monk fish pâté, mackerel sashimi, and tamago. The presentation was beautiful. Then came the sushi served five at a time. Lastly, we ate chawanmushi topped with two slices of sashimi. We also ordered a couple of rolls, and they were delicious. Service was great. Our server was friendly and helpful. Since we were a party of six, the gratuity already was added and our server kindly pointed that out when she brought the bill. There is a private area in the back of the restaurant, and that's where we ate. It can seat quite a few people. Parking in the area can be a challenge, but fortunately, the Mission Bartlett garage is only a couple of blocks away.

There are an abundant amount of Japanese restaurants in San Francisco to choose from, however, I took a gamble and chose Okaeri for a Saturday lunch with a colleague of mine— and it did not disappoint WHATSOEVER! The restaurant itself has a modern decor and the noise level was very nice for a late afternoon lunch. We started off with the Yuzu Foam Oysters which really set the bar for what was to come. The yuzu foam was intriguing to see as an offering, and it absolutely blew us away with how well it went with the oysters. Creamy and Umami— so so good! We ordered a few rolls: Cyclone Roll, Snow Mountain Roll, Salmon Lover Roll, & the Spicy Tuna Roll. Every roll tasted fresh, a great balance and ratio of fish to rice, perfect amount of seasoning, and expertly presented. Each roll had excellent flavor. My colleague and I both agreed that we were impressed with how well each tasted! To wrap up our meal, we ordered The Toast. This is hands down something everyone in San Francisco must try at least once… because it is unique and delicious. Uni Cream-Toro Tartare + Uni Caviar on a buttered thick toast— it was DIVINE. I am so glad I decided to venture out across the city to try Okaeri

Came here on my own for my birthday. Was an amazing experience. I got the omakase menu and it was excellent. The little starting plate they gave had an assortment of little bites that each had a very interesting assortment of flavors and textures. I especially liked the tempura with (from what I remember was) a little flower shaped radish piece on it. As for the nigiri, each piece blew me away. They hit each piece with a blowtorch for just enough to slightly render the fat so every piece coats your mouth in fat and flavor and it is just delicious. I have had a lot of sushi all around the world including Japan and this is probably the best I've ever had. The service is great, every person I spoke to was very kind, friendly, and accommodating. I was a little anxious going somewhere like this on my own for a special occasion but everyone made me feel welcome. I highly recommend visiting Okaeri!
